I'm Manya - UI/UX designer by day, environmentalist by night. Based inChicago.

My current journey...

After graduating with a B.F.A in Graphic Design, a minor in Business, and a certificate in Technology, Innovation and Entrepreunership, I have had an incredible amount of time to reflect on everything I have learned throughout my classes and work experience. As I prepare for my position at Accenture as a Consulting Analyst within Accenture Song (formally known as Accenture Interactive), I am actively working on my skills to produce solutions that embody leadership, innovation and creativity. I can't wait to begin this new chapter of my journey and will provide updates as I go!

My college journey...

My design journey began when I was 16 years old - my brother and I, like any other teenagers, decided that we wanted to make a difference in the world and created our social enterprise - Ochrona, Inc. Of course, creating a whole brand wasn't easy - we needed a website, logo, identity, etc...I remember thinking to myself, "how hard can it be?". The decision to create our social enterprise led me to the Graphic Design program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign more than two years later.

Since being in the program, I'm grateful to have interned with some amazing companies - as an UI/UX intern for Earthsense, Inc., I was able to solidify my design and professional skills very early on. After two years had passed at EarthSense, I was lucky to be chosen as a UI/UX intern at Cargill's Innovation Lab, where I am currently interning this semester. Within this internship, I was able to develop client-facing skills that will carry me in the professional world. The last four years have provided me with amazing experiences in design that helped me figure out my purpose - I want to use design as a weapon to change the world.

Outside of the design world, I am a part of a service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega, where I've served multiple technical and internal roles. I love exploring different ways I can give back to my community and Earth - I often spend time researching topics like sustainable and ethical design. In my free time, I love to sing (I never said I'm any good at it, though) and play with my dog, Cody. I love the outdoors and could always go for a day by the lake or in a forest preserve.
